Background Informations:
On 15 October 2006, the State Post Bureau issued a one-piece
set of special stamp, entitled "Chinese Export Commodities Fair ", with a total face value of 0.8yuan. The picture on the stamp are named "Chinese Export Commodities Fair".
Chinese Export Commodities Fair,also called Canton Fair,hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Guangdong Province,is held twice a year in spring and fall in Guangzhou since it was inaugurated in the spring of 1957.Every fair attracts large numbers of purchasers from all over world and China's best enterprises to Guangzhou.In October 2006,Guangzhou held the 100th Session of Canton Fair.During the 50 years across two centuries,this largest fair in China has never stopped for any reason.It exhibits the achievements China has made in the economic construction and opening-up and reform,shows that China is a country seeking for peace,development and cooperation.The fair is China's largest international trade fair,of the highest level,of the most complete varieties and of the largest attendance and business turnover.It has become an important window on China's open-up and a bridge for friendship and trade.It has made contribution never to be obliterated for China's foreign trade and witnessed the great economic evolution of China.
The 100th session of the Canton Fair was held between 15 and 30 October in Chinese Export Commodities Fair(Pazhou)Complex and Chinese Export Commodities Fair(Liuhua)Complex in two phases.The scale of this session is the largest ever with 14,000 enterprises and 50,000 attendees.In order to better suit the new opening-up situation,expand import and export,promote a balanced development of imports and exports,the Chinese Government decided to change its name to Chinese Import and Export Commodities Fair from the 101st session on.Right now,China has formed an all-round,wide-ranged and multi-leveled opening pattern,ranking the world's third in trade.
