Background Informations:
On June 25, 2008, China National Philatelic Corporation issued a first-day cover, carrying a set of two commemorative stamps, entitled "China's Second Land Survey". The two stamps, with a combined face value of 2.40 yuan, are entitled "Land Survey in Rural Areas" and "Land Survey in Urban Areas", respectively.
This large-scale survey will reveal China's overall condition of land use and basic data on land. The research results will be subject to e-management, and the systems of land surveying, counting and registration will be established and improved to meet the demands of socio-economic development, macro-control over land and national land resources management. The survey lasts from July 2007 to the first half of 2009, and covers the land in rural and urban areas and basic farmland, and the building of a land survey database. This is a significant survey to implementing the scientific outlook on development, building a harmonious socialist society and realizing sustainable development of economy and society.
